Beckhoff UK will exhibit at SPE Offshore Europe, scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 September 2023 at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company will be showcasing a range of technologies aimed to accelerate the transition to a better energy future.
Beckhoff will showcase its ELX EtherCAT terminals, which provide advanced control and communication capabilities for offshore applications. With their high-performance EtherCAT communication protocol, the ELX terminals enable seamless data exchange, precise synchronisation and exceptional system responsiveness.
These terminals offer a wide range of I/O modules, allowing operators to customise their solutions to suit specific offshore requirements, such as remote monitoring, process control or data acquisition.
In addition, Beckhoff will be highlighting the integration of TwinSAFE SC technology into the ELX EtherCAT terminals. TwinSAFE SC (TwinSAFE Single Channel) allows the use of standard signals for safety tasks across fieldbus networks. This technology offers a highly efficient and cost-effective solution for implementing safety functions in offshore applications.
By transferring data via the TwinSAFE protocol to the TwinSAFE Logic, safety-relevant applications can benefit from enhanced safety measures without compromising system performance. This breakthrough technology ensures reliable and efficient operations while minimising the complexity and costs associated with traditional safety systems.
Also on the stand will be Beckhoff's EtherCAT, the world's fastest industrial Ethernet, which offers exceptional performance and reliability for offshore environments. With its high-speed communication capabilities, EtherCAT enables seamless integration and synchronisation of various control devices, providing optimal efficiency and productivity.
Beckhoff will be demonstrating the power and versatility of EtherCAT, showcasing its ability to streamline data exchange, enhance system responsiveness and ensure precise control in demanding offshore applications.
