Schneider Electric celebrates 100th anniversary of TeSys with an address to industry

25 July 2024

Starting from its humble beginnings as the industry’s first BAR contactor in 1924, the TeSys motor control device range demonstrates a legacy of innovation with a lasting impact on industrial operations.

Schneider Electric is kicking off celebrations for 100 years of TeSys motor management solutions.

At a recent media briefing for leading trade press, David Barrett-Hague – Industrial Automation Marketing Manager, highlighted the business's long history and showcased the innovative solutions that are enabling Schneider Electric’s modern TeSys product range to provide advanced motor control performance and capability.

David Barrett-Hague said: “It’s always a pleasure to present the very latest product innovations directly to the industrial media. We started by looking back over the 100-year history of TeSys before showcasing the new era of motor management solutions.

“Schneider Electric is a trusted brand and has the heritage to match, having made over 180 years of IMPACT.

“Products like TeSys demonstrate how established excellence can be evolved to meet modern requirements.

“We look forward to TeSys remaining a principal source for OEMs and end users looking to achieve reliable, sustainable, and efficient motor control.”

For a century, TeSys motor controls have driven industry with innovations in motor protection, monitoring, and control, all of which are set to continue with the modern product line of intelligent solutions that is synonymous with best-in-class safety and reliability, plug-and-play architecture, and flexible functionality.

Today, TeSys comes in multiple forms, each one designed with efficiency and sustainability front of mind:

TeSys Island
A digital load management solution that makes machines smarter and more reliable, acting as a fully digitised, object-oriented load management system and an Industry 4.0-compliant data provider.

TeSys Island reduces the time to market for any asset, enabling OEMs to advance in digitalisation rapidly.

It also gives users easy and remote access to the energy data of each individual load as well as predictive and preventive application data, which leads to proactive maintenance approaches.

TeSys Deca
The new-generation TeSys Deca series motor starters offer a reliable and robust solution for a faster machine time-to-market. There is a wide range, for various applications, ready for any industrial environment.

TeSys Giga
Representing the new way of simplicity, TeSys Giga offers robust performance while optimising time on tasks, thanks to self-diagnostic indicators and full-scale protection that helps speed up corrections and prevent downtime.

TeSys Ultra
Improve productivity with TeSys Ultra, an innovative and self-protected motor starter combination that offers high endurance on-off motor controls, motor disconnection, motor protection from short circuits, and motor protection from overloads in a single device with total coordination.

As Schneider Electric embarks on the second century of TeSys innovation and leadership, it promises the best is yet to come.

2024 is set to be the best year yet for the TeSys range, the company says, with new product launches planned to expand the portfolio. It will address current trends and customer challenges, such as increased energy costs, sustainability targets, and the desire for scalability potential.
