Schneider Electric announces ‘Smart and Safe Buildings’ virtual panel discussions

15 June 2020

Schneider Electric has announced a series of virtual panel discussions exploring the role smart technology will play in overcoming the new safety challenges in buildings which owners and occupants face in these unprecedented times.

With offices beginning to reopen, Schneider Electric is facilitating conversations and advice from industry experts, on how smart technology can enable a safe, secure and efficient return to work.

The discussions will be free of charge and are split into three main panels, each of which is made up of industry experts:

1. Panel 1 - June 18th 11:00 BST - How can Smart Buildings enable safe, secure and efficient return to work? Industry experts will be discussing the current challenges property managers are facing during these unprecedented times. We will investigate best practices utilising smart building technology, preparing for the return to work and significantly lower occupancy rates.

2. Panel 2 - June 23rd 14:00 BST - What could the 'new normal' mean to our occupants and how will smart buildings technology help? We will be discussing what the 'new normal' could look like, particularly in terms of occupant wellbeing, comfort and safety. We will share how smart technologies could support the new reality.

3. Panel 3 - July 1st 13:00 BST - How our recent experiences will accelerate a more sustainable and connected future? Panellists will be exploring the experiences of recent times and how smart technology can play a part in the acceleration of a more sustainable and connected future for our buildings.

“Over the last few months the very idea of the workplace has changed. As the UK government looks to encourage people back to work, facility manager and property managers must understand the new paradigm in which we all must operate. As well as occupant wellbeing and comfort, safety must be paramount in every decision,” said Kas Mohammed, VP of Digital Energy at Schneider Electric. “Our panel discussions are aimed to enable industry experts to discuss the vital importance of smart buildings technology and its role in tackling the challenges we currently face. By ensuring buildings are safe and secure, we can provide a productive environment for occupants, with their wellbeing assured for years to come”
