Manufacturers invited to SolutionsPT Tech Day
29 August 2018
Manufacturers can explore the technologies that are making the industrial landscape more connected, efficient and secure at a SolutionsPT ‘Tech Day’ on October 2.
The event will be at Fota Island Resort, Cork, and will be led by industrial IT solutions specialists, SolutionsPT. Industry leading experts will join for the day and share their first-hand experience of implementing the latest OT software solutions.
The day will be divided into sessions to help delegates make informed choices about meeting the challenges of Industry 4.0, with hands-on practical workshops and demonstrations led by SolutionsPT systems architects.
Attendees will explore the benefits of upgrading to Wonderware’s latest SCADA software, System Platform 2017, such as a significant increase in operator effectiveness, and its low development costs. This is all thanks to the reusable HMI content, delivered by its configure-once-deploy-anywhere approach. A system integrator will also share their experience of completing a recent System Platform 2017 upgrade.
The integration of OT and IT applications, and an increasingly mobile workforce are amongst the key challenges of Industry 4.0. These issues will be tackled by SolutionsPT’s Technical Manager Ken Molloy in ‘Introducing a Smart and Context Driven User Interface’.
He will explain how Wonderware InTouch OMI, with graphics that can be built once and deployed across all OT and smart devices, can offer manufacturers greater safeguarding and speedier troubleshooting. Attendees will also hear from a food and beverage company on its successful implementation of Wonderware System Platform 2017 and InTouch OMI.
The connected ‘factory of the future’ offers huge potential to make faster, smarter business decisions. This does however present manufacturers with the task of figuring out how and where to host that data. The option of using Cloud-based technology for this task will be explored, with a renewable energy supplier explaining how they embraced Cloud technology to drive their IIoT optimisation.
With security being an increasingly-present concern in the modern industrial setting, the Tech Day will feature two sessions focusing on this issue.
SolutionsPT will share the steps manufacturers can take to ensure their SCADA is protected. There will also be an introduction to the new partnership between SolutionsPT and industrial cybersecurity company Claroty. Attendees will have the chance to explore the benefits of comprehensive continuous threat detection and vulnerability monitoring the partnership offers.
A series of afternoon breakout sessions will enable those attending to build on the knowledge gained during the morning with optional, hands-on workshops and demonstrations.
The Cork Tech Day will run from to 8.45am to 3.45pm. Attendance is free but delegates must register in advance by visiting: https://solutionspt.com/events-webinars/tech-day/#registration
